McGlynn students in grades K-2 have spent the past few weeks exploring color theory! Primaries, secondaries and all of the wonderful colors in between! Students learned proper use to class materials, as well as how to safely set-up and break down their work space. Each class did something special with their painted paper recipes! Just WAIT until you see the results!
Owls in Moonlight, Pattern Leaves, and The Color Wheel…oh my! Its been a very busy fall for 3rd graders at the Roberts as we learned about night time colors and watercolor resists, and then lines to make shapes, patterns and designs and finally we finished off with the most difficult of all, creating our own color wheels using just the primary colors alone! All our hard work has really paid off…see for yourself!
As we move into winter at the Roberts, the 4th grade projects are complete and ready to be shown off! We have learned a great deal about line and how to use it to make shapes and patters or how to make a round shape look 3D. And we also learned to use “night time colors” and also complimentary colors. We have had a blast and it shows in our art…take a look!
After learning about Complementary Colors, 4th graders at the Roberts created designs using two complementary colors of their choice. They look great!
